Beyond Centimorgans: Segment Size and Number Can Distinguish Relationships

Some relationships—such as half sibling, avuncular, and grandparent/grandchild—are indistinguishable based on the total amount of shared autosomal DNA. Case studies will be used to show how the number and sizes of shared segments can sometimes be used to differentiate among "overlapping" relationships.
